- For over 50 years, Cherry has delivered gaming entertainment to restaurants and nightclubs across Sweden
It all began one evening in December 1963. On St. Lucia’s Day, AB Restaurang Rouletter was founded by Bill Lindwall and Rolf Lundström. This marked the beginning of the company that, more than 50 years later, is known as Cherry. Many students worked part-time as croupiers, and two of them, Per Hamberg and Lars Kling, went on to start a competing business. The two companies merged in 1968, and in 1972 the name Cherry was introduced, along with the well-known cherry logo.
Casino operations in restaurants and nightclubs have remained stable and profitable over the years. Cherry’s market share has grown steadily through long-term efforts and acquisitions, making the company today a market leader in land-based commercial gaming.
